Enrolment
Welcome to Riverhills School. Enrolment packs are available from the school office, or you can request one using the form below. Please do not hesitate to call the office (09 576 8105) if you have any questions about enrolling your child with us.
Enrolling Your Child:
We are currently welcoming enrolments in Years 1-6. Riverhills School has an enrolment zone.
To enrol your child we need to receive a completed enrolment form (request one using the form on this page).
You will also need to provide the following information (without it your child cannot be enrolled at a NZ state school).
A Birth Certificate for New Entrant Students (5 year olds)
A vaccination certificate
A passport (with proof of NZ Residency) for recent overseas arrivals
Evidence that you live at an in-zone address (e.g. a bill with your name and address on it).
We also ask that you provide current home, work and mobile telephone numbers, and an email address for all caregivers.
Transition Visits
New Entrants and their parents are expected to visit the class they will be starting in at least once prior to starting school. Visits generally occur on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons 1.45 - 2.45pm, however other times may be available. These visits help children to get used to being in the classroom and to become familiar with the teacher and school routines. Please contact the office to arrange your visit dates and times.
Meet the Principal
When your child starts with us we will ask you to meet with our Principal. Mrs Allen will guide you through a 'welcome' booklet, explaining important aspects of the daily running of Riverhills School that you need to know about.
School Donation
The Riverhills School Board of Trustees has opted into the government's School Donations Scheme from the start of 2020. This means that the government will make a payment to the school and we do not request a donation from parents.
School Uniform
At Riverhills School all students wear correct school uniform with pride. The compulsory uniform is available for purchase from NZ Uniforms. A current price list is provided in the enrolment pack. Please ensure that all items of clothing are clearly named, this helps us to return items to the correct person. More information is available on the Uniform page of this website.
Please note that black socks and shoes or black sandals are a required part of the uniform. School hats are compulsory during outside activities in Terms One and Four.
Stationery
School stationery is available at the office. We have everything your child will need for the year. Many places advertise cheap prices but there are significant variances in the quality of paper and the number of pages provided. We do not make any money from stationery as we supply it at cost directly to parents.
